I visited the Kent Museum in Calais, Vermont to see an exhibit of contemporary art. The Kent Museum is an historic 1837 tavern/general store at Kents’ Corner—a crossroads hamlet in Calais, Vermont—just 10 miles north of Montpelier. Operated for over 40 years as a seasonal museum by the Vermont Historical Society, the Museum today is owned by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, and currently hosts shows of contemporary art within the complex. What resulted was my fascination, not of the art, but of a plaster walled room that was kept "as Is" and included writings from former tenants. I started taking pictures of various parts of the walls. Contemporary Art?
Contemporary art AND good construction documentation photography. I love that you got distracted by the living art in the gallery environment. I've done the same and came away with some photographs that I collaged together to describe old buildings and their history. I have one on my Etsy site called Smokestack of an old brewery (now a new artists loft complex)
