Autumn Panning

The colors are wonderful in Vermont right now--almost peak.  Here are some "pans" of the trees, done by moving the camera as you take the picture.

About Me

My photo
Patricia
UVM Professor Dan Higgins introduced me to documentary photography in a black and white photography class at the University of Vermont in the 80's. My one documentary series consisted of photographs of the people who walked into the Post Office one day in the town of Fairfax, Vermont where I lived. I loved the magic of images appearing in the darkroom. I resisted the switch to digital photography and now cannot imagine returning to film. I have taken several classes at the Helen Day Art Center and local colleges, attended a week-end workshop with Rocky Mountain School of Photography and spent a week with well-known photographers Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant in New Brunswick, Canada. I am currently doing an advanced independent study in scannography, Scannography uses a high resolution scanner for the photographs and the result is more like having used film. When looking at my body of photos,I am always surprised that the natural world pulls so strongly in my work. Fine art website: patricialyonsurrey.com
