Flowers for winter viewing and one of cat-o-nine tails in the snow
I love playing with depth of field! On February 24 it is a black and white study in Vermont with 22 inches of snow in my yard and the temperature hovering in the teens. What better time to play with depthh of field by taking pictures of flowers! Here are some of my favorites.

Rule of Thirds
Before you can break photographic rules you need to at least know what they are. The “Rule of Thirds” is one of the first things that budding digital
photographers learn about in classes on photography and as it
is the basis for well balanced and interesting shots.
The theory is that if you place points of interest in the intersections or along the lines that your photo becomes more balanced and will enable a viewer of the image to interact with it more naturally.
